Cairo & Grand Egyptian Museum: Essential FAQs
Do I need a Full Egypt Visa for the Cairo trip from Sharm?
Yes. To travel from Sharm El Sheikh to Cairo, you must have a Full Egypt Tourist Visa (the $25 sticker). The "Sinai Only" stamp is not valid for Cairo. If you don't have one, our team can help you arrange it at the airport or online before the trip.
What exactly will I see at the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM)?
Our tour includes access to the Grand Atrium to see the Colossus of Ramses II, the Grand Staircase featuring 60+ royal statues, and the commercial zone. We stay updated with the Ministry of Tourism's phased opening schedule to ensure you see the most available galleries.
How long is the drive to Cairo and is it comfortable?
The journey takes about 6–7 hours. We use premium air-conditioned vehicles with professional drivers. We include a rest stop halfway for breakfast and stretching. Traveling by road is a great way to see the Suez Canal area and the diverse Egyptian landscape.
Can I go inside the Great Pyramid of Giza?
Absolutely! While the general entry to the Giza Plateau is included, entering the Great Pyramid (Khufu) or the others requires an optional extra ticket. These are limited in number per day; please inform your guide early so they can assist you at the ticket office.
What is the best dress code for a Cairo day tour?
We recommend modest, lightweight clothing and comfortable walking shoes for the dusty terrain of the Pyramids. Bring a sun hat and sunglasses. It is also wise to bring a light sweater for the early morning and late evening bus ride, as the air conditioning is very effective.
